Healthy Oats Recipe

 

Ingredients 3 1/2 cup wheat flour (thickly ground) 3/4 cup oats 125 ml oil 3 tsp salt 3/4 tsp ajwain/carrom seed 1/2 tbsp kasoori methi (powdered dry methi leaves) 2 tsp til/sesame seeds 2 tbsp fried and ground peanuts (large grains also work) 1 tbsp turmeric powder Approx. 1 1/2 cup water Oil for boiling

Mix wheat flour, oats and salt Add oil and mix the dough well with both hands

Add the other ingredients (carrom seeds, kasoori methi, sesame seeds, peanuts) and mix uniformly into the dough Mix turmeric powder in the water. Then mix the turmeric water into the dough.

Leave the dough for 15 minutes and then knead it once again for 3-5 minutes till it is soft and can be broken into dough pieces.

Roll the dough into a large roti. Using a cutter, cut it into shapes of your choice.

With the help of a knife or fork make holes in the pieces of shaped dough in order to ease the process of frying.

Fry the shaped dough pieces on low-medium flame till it acquires the requisite color and crispiness.
